Using the Website
You are welcome to browse the site without being a registered user. However in order to book a class you will need to register and create a user name - registration is free and all information supplies will be kept strictly confidential.
Once you have registered you will receive an email giving you your password and this can then be used together with your email address to logon to the system. Logging on will allow you to view your unique rider page which details what classes you have already booked for the next 7 days and the number of credits you have remaining in your account. It will also allow you to manage your bookings on the bookings page. While we recommend keeping the email with your password, if you should loose it the facility does exist to obtain a new password.
Choosing your first class
I get many questions from people ringing up and are not sure which class is best to start with. They are nervous and think Spinning is hectic. This is not so at Pedal Studio. The reason being is that we run very controlled classes through the use of our Heart Rate system. Everything is about training in your correct zone.
A very fit person may be in the same class as you and they will be in their correct training zone and you will be in yours even if this is the first bit of exercise you have done in years ! The Heart Rate system is the key to varity within the class and is exactly why Pedal Studio provides this for free.
Spinning is all about riding your ride. You can do this in any class, high impact or low and instructors know this and will not challenge you as a New Rider to ride out of the correct zone.
So the answer is to choose a class that suites your schedule. In the first week try as many classes and instructors as possible - that’s the idea of the £10 4 7. At times you may need to take a break, so sit back and just spin your legs out and get your heart rate down. No one will be shouting at you for keeping to the correct zone.
The key is to enjoy the classes, build a routine and stick to. In time (+- 2 weeks) your respiratory system will benefit first, your breathing will ease up and your max heart rate will most likey come down to a degree you will battle to get into the high ‘red’ zone. This will be your first major gaol and achievement. Weight loss and Muscle toning will come but first you need to look after the ‘engine under the hood’ before you work on the body worx.
So pick a class, tell the instructor you are new to Pedal Studio when you get in so they can help you with bike set up and the Heart Rate system and get working!
Booking your first class
Please note – the system is programmed to know how to accommodate your first 7 days of rides to be covered by the £10 4 7 days. Once you are out of this period you will need to purchase rides. If you cannot make your first ride in the £10 4 7 , the 7 days starts to count down from your first booking so book again soon to get rides in the first 7 days. Please understand we cannot re-set this introduction deal under any circumstance so please work with us and the system – we are doing our best but there are no back office staff to reset starts, that is why we can afford to offer all this so cheaply !
What to do once the first 7 days are over
Your profile will ask you to purchase credits once the first 7 days are complete. Rides are availabe on a pay-as-you ride basis and in batches of 5 and 10 rides. Once you have purchased your credits continue to book in as normal and you will see the credits starting to decrease on your account.
Cost and Payments
We have a number of ride options available so check out the Prices page for more info.
Please pay for the £10 for 7 day introductory offer and any other subsequent classes after your first 7 days by putting cash or a cheque, made out to A. Clayton, into an envelope ( these are provided at the studio on top of the safe if you forget ). Include with your name and date of payment written onto the envelope, if you do not include your name we will not know who to allocate the payment to so please include your name!
Place this in the safe in the ride zone in studio where the bikes are. We will then allocate your cash to your account so please remember to check your ride credits have increased a few days (+- 7 after you have paid. If not please contact us to let us know they have not increased.)
Online Payment option is also available.
Facilities
We have shower facilities available at the studio as well as lockers for your personal belongings. Towels are available at £1 per towel.
Once you have booked your first class at Pedal Studio®
We now provide you with the elastic stretchy bit for the hear rate band, so there is no need to buy one. Please do remember to leave it in the dirty wash box after class so it can be washed.
Entry to the Studio
Please use this PIN number that is emailed to you to gain entry to the studio and please remember to shut the door firmly after you.
Using the Suunto (Heart rate monitor) system
We provide you with the team heart rate monitor which is fantastic and we give this to you to use and leave in the studio. It is a black hardened plastic monitor that sits on your chest ( under your shirt ) to read you hear rate. We do supply the washable stretchy straps in the studio, but should you prefer to purchase your own, please do so online for around £7.
Indemnity Forms
In order to register you will need to accept our Terms and Conditions and Indemnity form which is required as per our insurance policy.

Cancellations
Very importantly, please be aware we run a cancellation policy that does not allow for cancellations if there is less than 24hrs till the ride. This is because of the booking system we have that allows you to book in and reserve a bike so that you do not have to come early and queue for a bike.
If you do want to cancel a class and you are more than 24hrs till the ride, then please log into your account and cancel this from here. You can control all your bookings from your account.
If you have any problems email Janine on janine@pedalstudio.co.uk
Refunds
We are unfortunately not able to offer refunds.
